Pulau Ubin

This time I went Ubin via bumboat and rented a bike to explore the island on wheels.

Tried going to the old quarry where during army days, I went with my friends to take a dip and jump from quarry, after fishing session at the seaside. Later I realize how dangerous that can be!

Even after that I have been there again a number times during my uni days, to take a dip or just see-see-look-look. (BTW, the quarry water is fresh water - so it's always refreshing to swim in it especially after spending some time at the sea or cycling for a long time, hee hee)

Anyway, went back to the same quarry and found out that the fence was cut - again! Haa Haa, people do have their ways.

Also while bashing through the vegetation, found this errmm ... I think its a dam, or what's left of it.

One North

After the school camp duty, colleagues and I trying to find a place for dinner. Went to One North - it is the up-and-coming, up-class, wine-and-dine area, just a road across ACJC. The entrance looks more like a resort SPA than a restaurant.

My colleague called a friend to check out the approximate pricing; we went to Holland Village instead. Need I say more ...

Singapore River Raft Race

It is the annual SRRR organised my Singapore Poly again!

Unity Unicorn scouts troop has been faithfully participating this event for the past few years. And I must say that our raft is getting better every year. But more importantly, it is the for scouts to have some fun!

I remembered when I was studying at Alexandra Estate Primary School ( Primary 1), my teacher used to say that if I studied well, I might be able to study at Raffles Institution nearby. Of course, I didn't managed to go to RI.

Guess what, I am studying at the old RI building ... taking courses at Teachers Network which occupies the old RI building. Hee hee...

The Singapore Eye?

Everytime I pass by ECP, I see the 'Singapore Eye' developing. Actually it is called The Singapore Flyer. Actually it is a Ferris Wheel. What's in a name? It seems that it is an 'in' thing to build ferris wheel these days.



The tallest ferris wheel so far is the Star of Nanchang in China standing at 160m high. But after Singapore complete hers, which will stand at 165m tall, Singapore will have the tallest ferris wheel in the world, for how long, I am not sure. The picture below is the Star of Nanchang.
The more famous ferris will is probably be the London Eye .


Malaysia also has its Eye on Malaysia. ( want a pun)

Spiderman 3 Opening

Wow, the web of spiderman 3 sure catches Singapore.

Watch spiderman 3 today, its opening in Singapore. It's also Labour Day - the shopping malls are very crowded. I booked the tickets last Saturday, most seats in GV are booked; only the front few rows and the corner seats are left. EManaged to get tickets at Shaw, Bugis. Not too bad. That cinema is equipped with the 4K projector, supposedly to be of higher definition than High Definition (HD).
